Charissa & Dave's Journey Through The Years

Nothing means more to us than being trusted to walk alongside families through their milestones. Charissa and Dave have been with us since 2021. From their very first pregnancy, and over the years, we’ve had the privilege of capturing their children’s births, birthdays, and even their “second” post-Covid wedding celebration.

With their third child now on the way, Charissa reflects on what these sessions have meant to her family.

What made you choose to capture your family’s milestones with us from your first child till now?

In the beginning, I thought the memoire package was a great way to capture our child’s first year. We stuck around over the years because Kenny was really easy going and made us all very comfortable during the shoots. It was easy and, relaxed and just such a great experience from the start. We’ve done shoots for each of our 3 pregnancies and children as well as birthday parties and our “second” post covid wedding celebrations with Kenny. The photos all turned out wonderful.

⁠How do you feel when you look back at the photos we’ve taken over the years?

It’s amazing being able to look back at the moments we’ve captured over the years. As we’ve done them mostly at home, it’s such a beautiful reminder of each stage of our lives. The way our family and home has grown and changed over the years captured in these beautiful candid moments.

Can you share one memorable or funny moment from your photoshoots with us?

My kids stuffing their faces with snacks and donuts during the shoot and ending up absolutely covered in chocolate. We got some really cute photos out of that.

Why do you feel it’s important to document these moments professionally?

It’s always either myself or my husband behind the camera. It’s impossible to capture moments of all of us together. Impossible to capture ourselves interacting as a whole family. I think there’s a common misconception that a “professional” photoshoot consists of fake or posed moments. We pretty much just go about playing with our kids and Kenny and his team capture snippets of these beautiful unplanned moments that we can cherish for the years ahead.

What would you tell another parent who’s thinking of booking a family or newborn shoot?

I’d say, please don’t hesitate. We believe in it so much that we have gotten together with our friends to gift shoots to our expecting friends. These moments are irreplaceable and your children grow so incredibly fast.
