We recently did a Q&A session with our very own director photographer and founder of Love by Wander, Kenny. Follow through to find out his reflections after years of building the team, his unique approach and visions in cherishing family moments, and view his beautifully captured works.

What inspired you to start Love by Wander in the first place?
Love by Wander was born from a simple but powerful belief: that love is the most beautiful story worth keeping. I wanted to create a space where families, couples, and little ones could look back and see not just photos, but memories frozen in time. It’s about reminding people how much love surrounds them, even in the smallest, fleeting moments.

You’ve photographed weddings, brands, and even film photography. How has that shaped the way you capture families today?
Every experience has taught me something different. Weddings showed me how to catch raw emotions in a split second. Brands taught me to be intentional with details and storytelling. Film photography slowed me down, teaching me patience and presence. Together, they’ve shaped the way I photograph families today: with both emotion and meaning, and also with an eye for timeless simplicity.
What’s been the most rewarding part of building Love by Wander?
It’s hearing families say, “These photos feel like us.” That’s when I know we’ve done our job. Building Love by Wander has never just been about pretty pictures, it’s about creating keepsakes that truly reflect each family’s unique love story. What makes it even more rewarding is when families return to us as their story grows, whether it’s welcoming their next child or celebrating new milestones together.

Where do you see the future of family photography heading, and how do you hope Love by Wander plays a role in it?
I think family photography is moving towards being more real and less posed, capturing the everyday chaos, the laughter, and the little tender moments, instead of just “perfect” portraits. At Love by Wander, I want us to keep things authentic, helping families feel comfortable, so their natural bond really shines through. Honestly, my dream is to see every home got at least one photo taken by us, proudly hanging on the wall, something that always reminds them of their love and story.
If you could describe Love by Wander’s style in 3 words, what would they be?
Heartfelt. Real. Timeless.

What’s one session or project that has stayed with you the most, and why?
One of the most unforgettable sessions was with a mother who was battling breast cancer while expecting her baby. Photographing her maternity journey was such a powerful reminder that every stage of life, no matter how challenging, is worth celebrating and remembering. That experience deeply inspired me to keep capturing these precious moments for families, because love and connection deserve to be documented at every chapter.

As the director photographer, what do you hope every family takes away from their session?
I hope every family leaves with not just photos, but with a deeper sense of gratitude for one another. That they look at their images and think, “This is our love, this is our story, and it’s worth cherishing forever.”
